Penny Arlene Wright, age 79, of Rockaway Beach, Missouri

Penny Arlene Wright, age 79, of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, passed away December 23, 2023. She was born March 31, 1944, in Hollywood, California, the daughter of Pete and Pearl Cromer. She was joined in marriage to Johnny Wayne Wright on December 6, 1962. Penny and Johnny were blessed with five children and their spouses, 14 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. Her family was her life and she loved them more than they knew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Johnny Wayne Wright; two brothers: Pete Cromer Jr. and Preston Cromer; a sister, Pat Cromer; and a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Wright.

Penny leaves behind her children and their spouses: Shawn and Douglas Williams of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, William Wright of Forsyth, Missouri, Tory Wright of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, Reve Wright of McGregor, Texas, and Carson and Trisha Wright of Branson West, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a brother, Phillip Cromer of Houston, Texas; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Penny grew up in Texas where she met Johnny. They worked for the Coppel, Texas school district for many years. After retirement, they moved to the Branson area to be closer to their children. She was a terrific mom and a wonderful singer who had the voice of an angel and sounded like Pasty Kline. Her family was the most important part of her life. She loved them dearly, and they will miss her smile and the love she showed them always. The memories and legacy Penny Wright has left will live on for many generations.
