Pete Griffin, age 97, of Neosho, Missouri.
Pete Griffin, age 97, of Neosho, Missouri passed away Monday, February 3, 2025 at Mercy Hospital Joplin in Joplin, Missouri.
He was born July 11, 1927 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas the son of Mike and Eula (Wright) Griffin. On April 17, 1950 in Boise, Idaho he was united in marriage to Billie Creswell, who preceded him in death on September 24, 2017. Also preceding him in death were his parents; infant son, Lynn; grandson, B.J. Oxendine; two brothers, Dennis Griffin and Sam Griffin and sister, Dura Farmer.
Surviving are one son, David Griffin and his wife Carol of Washburn, Missouri; three daughters, Karen Kennedy and her husband Randy of Jay, Oklahoma, Dorothy Wolgamott and her husband Miles of Neosho, Missouri and Shana Griffin of Neosho, Missouri; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Pete grew up and attended school in Colony, Arkansas. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II. Pete owned and operated a poultry farm for 60 years along with raising cattle. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mowing, running the brush hog, being outdoors and going to the Goodman Café visiting with everyone. Pete will be missed by all that knew him.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 7, 2025 at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. J.R. Burr will conduct the services. Burial will be at McNatt Cemetery in McNatt, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time Friday at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.
