Phillip Lynn Harter, 69, of Forsyth, MO.
Phillip Lynn Harter, 69, of Forsyth, MO, passed away April 21, 2025, at Quail Creek Skilled Nursing in Springfield, Mo., surrounded by family and friends. He was born on July 7, 1955, in Branson, MO., to Andrew and Mildred (Keck) Harter. Phillip attended and graduated from Branson High School, and furthered his education at DeVry Institute of Technology in Kansas City MO. He worked at C Biz as a computer technician for most of his career. Phillip was very proud of his service to his country in the United States Navy.
Phillip, along with the Godley boys, helped organize the 4th of July fireworks in Rockaway Beach, Mo., for many years. He loved fireworks and didn’t need a reason to set them off. He was a member of the American Legion, Elks Club and the Knights of Columbus, serving as their Grand Knight 3rd and 4th Degree. He was a part of one of the first families to establish Our Lady of the Ozarks Catholic Church in Forsyth and was a faithful worker and supporter to the church until his passing.
Phillip was proceeded in death by his parents.
Phillip is survived by two brothers, Steven Harter of Branson MO. Robert Harter (Janie) Harter of Butler, KY., three nieces, one nephew and eight great nieces and nephews. He leaves behind many amazing friends as well.
Visitation and Rosary for Phillip Harter will begin Saturday, April 26, 2025, 9AM at Our Lady of the Ozarks Catholic Church, Forsyth, Mo., with funeral mass beginning at 10 am. Officiating by Father J Friedel with assistance from Deacon Dan Vaughn. Burial will follow at the Snapp Cemetery in Forsyth, Mo.
The family cannot express enough gratitude to Phoenix Hospice for the excellent service and care they provided to Phil over the last few months. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Knights of Columbus Seminarian Support Fund at 203 Vaughn Drive, Branson, MO 65616.
