Pvt Caden Layne Sjobeck, age 18, of Clermont, Florida.

Pvt Caden Layne Sjobeck, age 18, of Clermont, Florida, passed away suddenly on December 14, 2024. He entered this life on May 12, 2006, in Clermont, Florida, the son of Thomas and Colleen (McGuirl) Sjobeck. Caden was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bernard McGuirl and uncle, Joseph McGuirl.

After completing high school, he entered the United States Marine Corps in Largo, Florida. Pvt Sjobeck was proudly stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. As a boy, Caden enjoyed being on the water and you could often find him cruising in a boat or wakeboarding. In the wintertime, he found his time being spent snowboarding and appreciating the moments with his family. Caden was a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and loved his dog, Remington. The memories created will be cherished forever and he will be loved for all time.

Caden is survived by mother, Colleen Sjobeck of Omaha, Arkansas; sister, McKayla Sjobeck of Clermont, Florida; father, Thomas Sjobeck of Clermont, Florida; grandmother, Mariella McGuirl of Pemberton, New Jersey; and grandparents: Sally and Jerry Fisher of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He is also survived by his aunt, Tonya (Rickie) Jones of Lead Hill, Arkansas; aunt, Page (Vaughn) Harper of Clermont, Florida; cousins: Joseph McGuirl Jr., Ciana Main, Bobby Main, Landon Jones, Madisene Coyne, and Mackenzi Smith; best friend, Riley Gilmore of Minneola, Florida; grandmother, Diane Sjobeck; and grandparents: Glenda and Jim Johns.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2024, at Cremations of the Ozarks, 115 Industrial Park Dr., Hollister, Missouri. Burial with full military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2024, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Rd., Springfield, Missouri.
