Richard “Dwayne” Mason, age 86 of Branson.
Richard “Dwayne” Mason, age 86, left this life on April 24, 2024, in Branson, Missouri. He was born February 8, 1938, in Canton, Illinois, to Geneva June (Irons) Mason and Raymond Kenneth Mason. Dwayne was joined in marriage to Sandra Kay Fidler on September 1, 1956.
A quiet man, he would surprise many with his sense of humor and enrich the lives of his loved ones with his hardworking nature and care for his family. He had a deep respect and care for nature, always making it a point to feed the local deer and wildlife every night. Dwayne was always willing to help anyone in need, no matter the request. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping and fishing with his family. A diligent man, he spent many years working for the Banner Coal Mines, retiring from Pschirrer Asphalt Company. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Dwayne loved his family dearly. His lasting legacy will be treasured in the hearts of everyone he touched throughout his life and his love for nature.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandra; parents; and sister, Shirley.
Dwayne is survived by his two sons: Mark (Jamie) Mason of Oak Grove, Missouri, and Brad (Chris) Mason of Branson, Missouri; four granddaughters: Jaye, Emily, Sydney, and Tyler; three great-granddaughters: Sophia, Hailey, and Kaia; one great-grandson: Christian; and several nieces and nephews.
