Richard E. “Rick” Sizemore, age 76, of Cassville, Missouri

Richard E. “Rick” Sizemore, age 76, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Monday, August 14, 2023 at his home.

            He was born January 4, 1947 in Kewanee, Illinois the son of Raymond and Florence (Haptonstall) Sizemore. On December 12, 1965 in Galva, Illinois he was united in marriage to Shirley M. Olander, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Troy D. Sizemore of Cassville, Missouri and Trevis M. Sizemore of Cassville, Missouri; one daughter, Tara M. (Dan) Miller of Springfield, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Anthony Sizemore, Ashley Sizemore and Miriah, Amanda “Mandi” (Chase) Dunfee, Brooklyn (Andrew) Hunter, Stephanie (Josh) Kern, Jake (Chekota) Sizemore, Ethan Sizemore, Mikka (Ronnie) Hunt, Makayla (Alex) Ayo and Macee Miller; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Kevin (Diane) Sizemore and four sisters, Sandra (Mike) Blank, Barbara (Sam) Gray, Terri Clesson and Kathy (John) Henry.

            Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, William “Ray” Sizemore; one sister, Vickie Scalbeck; one grandaughter, Angel Dawn Sizemore; one sister-in-law, Cindy Sizemore and one brother-in-law, Bill Clesson.

            Rick grew up and attended school in Lafayette, Illinois graduating from Lafayette High School. After graduation he joined the United States Army serving from February 16, 1966 until September 9, 1966. He was employed by Walmart as a truck driver for 30 years from where he retired. Rick enjoyed riding his Harley, driving his sports cars, going mudding in his Jeep, piddling and working in his garage and yardwork, he referred to his yard as Papa’s Park. He always wanted to accomplish something every day. Rick and Shirley loved to travel throughout the states in their camper but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

            Services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 18, 2023 at Corinth Baptist Church in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.  Pastor Donnie Spears will conduct the services.  

            The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.           

            Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in memory of Rick.
