Rick Joe Vanderpool, age 68, of Purdy, Missouri.

Rick Joe Vanderpool, age 68, of Purdy, Missouri passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Cox Monett Hospital in Monett, Missouri. 

He was born July 14, 1954 in Cassville, Missouri the son of Nicky and Joan (Pierce) Vanderpool. On July 14, 1974 in Washburn, Missouri he was united in marriage to Charlene “Charlie” Carter, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Sundie Burt; one brother, Randy Vanderpool and his wife Machelle of Purdy, Missouri; two sisters, Vicky Daniel of Nixa, Missouri and Donna Vanderpool of Springfield, Missouri; his hauling buddy, Robert Balmas of Monett, Missouri; his sidekick, Rusty Stone of Jenkins, Missouri and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Preceding him in death were his parents and one son, Nicky Joe Vanderpool. 

Rick grew up and attended school in Washburn, Missouri graduating from Southwest High School. After graduation he worked for Gene Swadley pouring concrete and later was employed by FASCO Industries in Cassville, Missouri for sixteen years while also milking cows. Rick then started hauling cattle which was his passion. He enjoyed mowing the yard, fishing and taking trips to Las Vegas. 

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Butterfield, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Reverend Glenn Erwin will conduct the services. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. 

Contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in memory of Rick.
