Robert Stephens, age 75, of Blue Eye
Robert Louis Stephens, age 75, of Blue Eye, Missouri, passed away June 26, 2021. He entered this life October 17, 1945, in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, the son of Ted and Anna (DeHart) Stephens. He was joined in marriage August 12, 1970, to Vonda Williams.
A very talented musician, Robert played the bass, piano, and guitar. He took part in over 100 albums. He could have had a career as a musician, but chose rather to follow the Lord’s calling and be a pastor, evangelist and radio personality. Robert was well known for preaching across the south from Florida to California. At one time he was the Presbyter for the Northern California District Churches. Robert had a heart for the Lord’s people, and they had a heart for him and Vonda. His joy and sense of humor were contagious in every aspect of his life and ministry. While he served both small and large crowds, what mattered to him most was following his Master. He will be greatly missed.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents; son, Dustin Stephens; and brother, David Stephens.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Vonda Stephens; daughter, April (John) Thrasher of Salado, Texas; son, Brian (Mandi) Stephens of Tyler, Texas; daughter-in-law, Amanda (Stephen) Sequeira of Salado, Texas; four grandchildren: Macy, Reagan, Adrian, and Gavin; two sisters: Donna Hocker and Sharon Jones; and two brothers: John and Jerry Stephens.
There will be two celebrations of life: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday June 29, 2021, at Calvary Temple in Blue Eye, Missouri, with Alton Garrison and Phil Hastie officiating; then 10:30 a.m. July 10, 2021, at Crossroads Church in Belton, Texas, with Bob Jones and Harry Thrasher officiating.
