Robert Mari, age 63, Springfield, MO
Robert Mari was born on October 17, 1959 in Lancaster, California. He was the second child born to Robert Mari and Susie Mari Still. His other siblings included brothers, Dwayne, Donald and David Nay, John and Peter Mari and sisters, Carolyn Martinez and Peggy Mari.
He cherished every moment spent talking and spending time with his dad, siblings, grandkids, great grandkids and especially his kids. Family was his sunshine on a rainy day.
Robert spent most of his younger days as a taxi driver in Lancaster and Palmdale, California which is probably where he got his bad driving habits like the time he rode the rumble strip on two wheels going to see his second oldest daughter Becky and her beautiful family. Robert had one last step before he set sail on his career. He was a security officer at Lockheed. Later, Robert found his pride and joy working for ONS as a truck driver. Robert went on many journeys and saw a lot of cool things. Many years down the road, he happily retired from ONS.
As his daughter Johanna wrote, Dad wasn’t the easiest person to live with; he decorated every hallway with Elvis Presley. When you visited him, you would eat off Elvis plates, drink out of eagle cups and talk about pretty girls all day long. The most important things were the morals and values Robert taught his family and the way he cared and loved them. Whenever someone was in need, he was the first to give help where help was needed.
A picture is worth a thousand words, but a memory is priceless. Memories like Monday family games nights and birthday parties. Robert loved seeing all his grandbabies on their birthdays. Family outings on a pontoon boat that almost sank and jumping in thinking we could swim were memories that will always be treasured.
He was an amazing man who taught his family how important a strong work ethic is and remembering a positive mind equals positive energy. He will be missed every day. We wish we could have had more time together. His memory will be cherished and live within us all.
Robert passed away December 31, 2022 in Springfield, MO surrounded by his family.
Along with his father and siblings, Robert is survived by his children, Donna, Rebecca, Laura, Robert, Samantha and Johanna along with his grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
