Robert V. “Bob” Scott, age 91, of Seligman, Missouri passed away Monday, December 20, 2021 at Aurora Nursing Center in Aurora, Missouri.
He was born on March 14, 1930 in Mantee, Mississippi the son of Lonnie D. and Zona (Dura) Scott. On March 15, 1953 in Oak Grove, Missouri he was united in marriage to Betty Dewitt, who preceded him in death on July 13, 2017. Also preceding him in death were his parents and nine siblings.
Surviving are three daughters, Dr. Shari Thompson of Marshall, Missouri, Regina Scott of Columbia, Missouri and Johnna Beitler of Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Harold Scott and his wife Charlotte of Meridian, Mississippi; one grandchild, Tiffany Quashie and two great grandchildren Julius and Ashanti.
Bob graduated from Cumberland High School in Webster County, Mississippi. After high school he attended Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi and was awarded a degree. Bob was in the ministry for 61 years, the majority of which was spent ministering in Southern Barry County. After his retirement as pastor of Seligman First Baptist Church, he attended Victory Baptist Church in Cassville. He enjoyed being with people, spending time outdoors and taking care of his horses and cattle. Traveling with his wife, spending time with his friends and family is what he loved to do.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 31, 2021 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri. Pastor Randy Comer will conduct the services. Burial will be at King Cemetery in Seligman.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
