Shirley “Joann” Beeson, age 87, of Monett, Missouri
Shirley “Joann” Beeson, age 87, of Monett, Missouri passed away Monday, May 30, 2022 at her home.
She was born in Butterfield, Missouri on March 15, 1935 to Luther and Dorthy (Boyd) Roller. On August 1, 1953 she was united in marriage to Mitchell Beeson, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Danny Beeson of Phoenix, Arizona and Kenneth Beeson and his wife Anna of Monett, Missouri; five grandchildren, Angela Jenkins, Ronald Beeson, Amanda Beeson, Jessica Beeson and Alyssa Beeson; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, David Beeson; two grandsons, Podie Beeson and Michael Beeson; one granddaughter, Kaylyn Beeson; three brothers, Dale Roller, Bill Horn and Rick Horn and one sister, Barbara Stillwell.
Joann grew up in this area and attended Cassville High School. After her marriage to Mitchell they moved to Georgia while he was in the United States Army. They then moved to Kansas City where he attended electronics school. After his training was completed, they moved to California where Joann worked as a beautician for thirty years, living there for forty years before retiring and moving to Monett. She enjoyed sewing, especially quilting, and won best of show for an entry at the Ozark Empire Fair. She loved being a grandmother and she believed in God.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 6, 2022 at Russell Cemetery in Butterfield under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Reverend Jerry Nickle will conduct the services.
