Teresa Kay Kooken, age 60, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Thursday, August 19th at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Born N ovember 22, 1960 to Beverly Johnson Jones and LM “Mike” Jones in Winfield, KS. Teresa grew up in Peculiar, MO and graduated from Raymore-Peculiar High School in 1978. She lived in Texas, Alabama and Arkansas finally settling in Cassville, MO where she met her loving companion of 17 years, Cullen Kuykendall.
Teresa was an avid Chiefs fan, a child of God and had a heart of kindness and love. She was a well-loved woman that brought joy and happiness to those around her. She forgave easily and was always there with no questions asked. Those who knew her will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Beverly and “Jack” Sweeney and Harold McCormack.
She is survived by her loving companion, Cullen of the home; three children: Shawn Jones of Cassville, Jacki Grubb of Cassville and James “Jay” Grubb of Cassville; five grandchildren: Trevis, Daymien, Shawn Michael, Alissa and Madison; father: Mike and Pat Jones of Wichita, KS; three sisters: Marcine and Dennis Carey of Gladstone, MO, Christine and Salvatore Anguzza of Vista, CA, Dana Metzger of Burlington, KS; three brothers: Steven Jones of Cassville, Greg McCormack of Topeka, KS, Kelly McCormack of El Dorado, KS.
A gathering of family and friends for a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm in Room 8, 404 State Hwy 248, Cassville on Saturday, 8/28/21.
Instead of flowers, donations to cover medical and living expenses will be appreciated. Donations will be accepted at the Celebration of Life or online through Venmo @Marcine-Carey.
Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
