Virgil Ray Dickey

Virgil Ray Dickey, age 75, Kirbyville, Missouri

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Virgil Dickey.

Virgil Ray Dickey was born on December 6, 1947 in Springfield, MO to Ora Dickey and Venitha (Chrisitan) Dickey.  He attended elementary school in Kirbyville and graduated from Branson High School.  He served in the 82nd Airborne Division with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He worked for himself as a residential and commercial plumber.

Virgil will be most remembered for the love and generosity he had for his family and his community.  He loved his family beyond words and always exemplified strength and giving that knew no bounds.  He served as President on the Mincy Community Center Board since the early 1990s and his commitment was a testament to the love and support he had for his community.

Virgil enjoyed other hobbies including hunting with family and friends.  He loved to tinker with cars and loved to search for a good bargain or trade with his vehicles.  He had a fun sense of humor and corny jokes were his favorite.  He was an amazing storyteller and rich in Taney County history.  He often paired the two to share entertaining and enlightening stories about the area.

Virgil passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday morning, November 29, 2023 at the age of 75.  He was one of a kind, selfless, generous, and a pillar of his family and community.  Virgil will be greatly missed because he loved greatly and was greatly loved.
